Title: Production Scheduler
Location: The Royal Group – Cicero, IL

Royal Bay, a TRG company and subsidiary of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Production Scheduler to support our Cicero, IL facility.  As a Production Scheduler, you will schedule machine operations, oversee and coordinate all production activity with sales, sales service, and shipping to ensure that orders are being handled properly.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct scheduling meetings with various staff members to explain shipping deadlines, existing and/or new orders, and any outstanding issues or problems.
  • Review completed work orders from previous shifts to determine which are still open.
  • Expedite parts from the different work centers which are behind schedule or which have new delivery dates.
  • Review completed work orders from previous shifts to determine which are open.

  • Review sales reports and orders to determine the necessary production schedule.
  • Prioritize work for each work center.
  • Oversee the creation of work orders for the production floor.
  • Analyze customer sales reports to ensure raw materials on hand to produce on time delivery.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory.
  • Act as back up for Production Planner as requested. Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • 3 – 4 years of experience in the field or related area.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a corrugated scheduling department and/or box plant operation preferred.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Computer literate and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret production reports, technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes.
  • Ability to write business reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside company officials.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to production scheduling as well as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and measurements furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
