We would like to congratulate Doug Wittibslager from our TRG-Marion facility for celebrating 40 years with The Royal Group. Doug started his journey with TRG on April 25, 1980, when he came on board as a saw and slitter operator. Within just a few years, Doug made his way to press operator, the position he holds to this day, and thoroughly enjoys. Since his time with the company, he has seen significant changes at the TRG-Marion facility. Back in the early ’80s, when Doug was new to the company, the building was much smaller with only 1 press machine, 1 die cutter, and only about 20 employees in total. Since then the building, machinery, and employees have all more than doubled in size.
Doug attributes most of his success that led to this major accomplishment to his love for the job and the great people or as he puts it, “Characters” he gets to work with every day. Doug says “I enjoy my work as it’s not monotonous, the press changes every day, and I appreciate the challenge it brings”
Through the years Doug has enjoyed many company picnics, trips, and events. Many of his favorite times have been spent on company-sponsored sports teams including the 35 and over basketball league where they won the championship 9 years in a row!
Outside of work Doug enjoys camping with his wife of 40 years, Shelly. He also enjoys playing basketball and spending time with his daughter, Amanda, son-in-law Thomas, and his three granddaughters, Ethereal, Melody, and Taylor.
Congratulations to Doug on this great milestone of achievement!
